Fantastic Caverns is just northwest of Springfield, MO, and is famous for being the only riding tour in the state! When you board the comfortable jeep­ drawn tram for the 55 minute tour of America’s ride­ through cave, you'll be transported to a different, more simple time. You'll experience the magnitude, the stillness, and the splendor of Fantastic Caverns while preserving its natural features!
Fantastic Caverns offers immense educational opportunities for students of all ages and group sizes. Fantastic Caverns is open daily throughout the year except for Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, from 8:00 AM to “dusk.”

#8 Jacob’s Cave
Jacob's Cave is located in Versailles - Lake of the Ozarks. This fully guided walking tour is conducted in an environment that remains a constant temperature of 53 degrees, so you may want to grab a jacket if you chill easily! 
Jacob's Cave offers over 200 years of history and it has been available to the public for viewing for the last 82 years! Jacob’s Cave provides a variety of events throughout the year, so be sure to mark your calendars when the next event comes! The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Establishing the park Thunder Mountain Park was established in 1950 in order to protect the caves within it.  The amazing colors and incredible onyx formations inside of Bridal Cave  are all formed by minerals from rain water that seeps into the ground. Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
