Warm Holiday Fun at Bridal Cave! 🎅🌟🎄

Christmas time is here and with the holiday festivities underway, it's likely that you will have guests coming into town! If you are looking for a fun way to get the whole family out of the house for a while, Bridal Cave is open daily from 9am - 4pm for tours of our Lake of the Ozarks cave. We will be closed on Christmas Day and New Years Day but open every other day! Find out what we have in store for your visit below!



It's Comfy in the Cave
Even if it's a little chilly to be hanging around outside at the park, it's always a comfortable 60° inside Missouri's most scenic cave tour, allowing you to get out of the house and into nature without freezing! Shimmy out of that heavy winter coat once you're inside the cave and feel like it's a nice, cool, fall day again. 

Instead of getting stir-crazy stuck inside the house, bring the family here to hang out with us over the holidays. We are open daily from 9 am - 4 pm with Bridal Cave tours leaving every few minutes. The only exception will be that we will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day to celebrate the holidays at home. 

Take a Hike 

If the weather is nice in the afternoon, you can take a hike! As a part of Thunder Mountain Park, we have a 1/2 mile nature trail. Wind through the gorgeous scenery and make a stop at our outdoor classroom, see beautiful limestone shelves, and enjoy the beauty of the Northern slopes of Thunder Mountain Park. There is no charge to hike the trail so you have no reason not to go!

Season Passes to Bridal Cave

Season passes to Bridal Cave are also a great gift that's full of a year's worth of family fun. For only an additional $5 on top of your one-time cave tour admission, you can upgrade to a pass that's good for one entire year from the date that it's purchased. Every time the weather isn't that enjoyable due to rain, snow, or uncomfortable temperatures, you can come and enjoy nature right here.

Break A Geode

A fun activity to enjoy while you are in the park is to break a geode! Geodes are typically round rocks that have a hollow cavity in the center that may or may not have beautiful crystals inside! The "unknown" inside these rocks are what makes breaking them open so much fun! The best part is you get to take your geode home after you break it open in our geode press!

Any day is a great day to go caving and our cave at the Lake of the Ozarks is open seven days a week! With the holidays coming up, taking your family that is visiting on a cave tour is a great way to get out of the house and have some family fun! Explore Thunder Mountain Park

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . The History of Bridal Cave

Bridal Cave has a very interesting past.  It's story goes back long before the Lake of the Ozarks was created.  As early as 8,000 BC, Native Americans were using caves in the area for shelter, and more than likely Bridal Cave was one of those used.  We will begin this tale with the first organized exploration over 150 years ago of what is now known as one the best attractions at the Lake of the Ozarks . Bridal Cave Visitors Center, 1968 1856   The first organized exploration of portions of Bridal Cave is recorded.  B.D. Dodson is credited with this feat.  The next major exploration is done by S.W. Burke four years later.   1894 Over 5400 acres of land is purchased by Colonel R.G. Scott.  That area is now known as Ha Ha Tonka State Park, and it includes Bridal Cave.  Colonel Scott is very impressed and wants to know how it got the name Bridal Cave, so he begins researching the subject.  He is credited for being the first person to publish the now famous legend of Brida
