Circle the Lake with Christmas Cheer

Saturday, December 19th, 2020

Join us for a community-wide outdoor Christmas Caroling event. The group will leave Big Surf Waterpark at 10:00am. Along with the vocalists from Main Street Music Hall, we'll travel around the Lake stopping at nursing and assisted living facilities spreading Christmas joy for all to hear! Busses will be available for transportation. If you'd rather drive yourself from stop to stop, you are more than welcome to join in the caravan! Be mindful that some facilities don't have big parking lots so try to carpool or ride the bus if you're comfortable with that. 

Donate to Make the Event Extra Special!

We're thrilled to announce that we're making the Circle the Lake Christmas Cheer event even more special! We're asking for donations to be made for both employees and residents of area assisted living facilities. For employees, we're gathering gift cards and other goodies to help showcase our appreciation of the very important and appreciated job these employees are doing every single day through a pandemic. We're also gathering stuffed animals for residents to have something warm and cozy to hold during this crazy year where they've been in isolation for months on end. Help brighten the day of those who have been on lock down since March. Items for donation can be dropped off at any local chamber office!

Help spread Christmas cheer to those working and living in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Whether through donations or by joining our Christmas Carol event, there are a number of ways to join in this amazing area event! As one of the most scenic caves in America, we're proud to be a sponsor of this fantastic event to get everyone into the holiday spirit!

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
