Last Hoorah of Summer - Labor Day Weekend at Bridal Cave!

It's Labor Day weekend and we couldn't be more excited at our attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks! We are sad to see summer go, but we are excited to celebrate and have fun during the last big summer weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks. If you're in the area, be sure to stop by our Lake of the Ozarks cave! 



Boat to Bridal Cave

The top activity of the weekend is, of course, going to be boating but did you know that Bridal Cave can be reached by water? You can reach our lakefront attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks at the 10.5 MM of the Big Niangua Arm of the Lake. Dock your boat at our dock and come on up for some family fun! You can enjoy feeding the fish, take a cave tour, and enjoy your lunch at our lakeside pavilion!

Last Lantern Tour 

If you've yet to go on one of our lantern tours, Labor Day Weekend will be your last chance before next summer! This is your opportunity to explore Bridal Cave just like the first explorers did - by lantern! This is a completely different tour than the day tour with brand new information about the cave's history and the some great Lake of the Ozarks history as well!

Fireworks Around the Lake 

After the sun goes down, you may be looking for some great fireworks! There are going to be several Lake Area businesses with firework shows. Find out where to view the best fireworks curtsey of LakeExpo!

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
