Lake of the Ozarks Makes USA Today's List for Best Leaf Peeping by Boat!

We already know that the Lake of the Ozarks is one the best places to take in some gorgeous fall sites but in a recent article written by USA Today, Lake of the Ozarks makes the list for leaf-peeping by boat. There is nothing better than watching the leaves change colors in the fall, and it's even better by boat. Our Lake of the Ozarks attraction is gorgeous during fall, so make plans to visit us by water and take in some spectacular fall sites on your way!

Take a Boat Ride to Bridal Cave!

Bridal Cave is located on the 10 1/2 MM on the Big Niangua Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks and our boat dock makes visiting us by water easy. Why not take a boat ride to Bridal Cave, take a tour, and see all of the fall colors above and below ground.

During your boat ride, you can expect to see blackgum, hickory, sweetgum, red maple, dogwood, buckeye trees, and more - all of which make for a beautiful fall landscape!

Thunder Mountain Park

Thunder Mountian Park is an excellent place to explore the fall colors. Once you dock your boat, head up to the visitor center and get your tickets for one of America's most scenic cave tours. Our cave is one of the best-decorated caves in the US and there are even some gorgeous fall colors underground! Due to the minerals, iron oxide, calcium, and manganese, the cave is decorated with vibrant colors of white, orange various, reds, and grey.

After your cave tour, if you'd like to see even more fall foliage, we have a 1/2 mile nature trail that winds through the woods and overlooks the lake!

Fall Festival in October!

If you visit us in October, you can even participate in the Fall Festival! Every weekend in October, our Lake of the Ozarks family attraction is all decked out for our Thunder Mountain Fall Festival. We've covered the entire place in pumpkins, corn stalks, straw bales, and colorful mums. The best part about all of the locally grown fall decorations that we used in the park is that you can take some of that fall color home with you! In addition to the fall decor, you can join in on the fall activities! Below are a few of the activities you can enjoy while you're here!
  • Sarsaparilla Making
  • Feed Giant Fish
  • Bean Bat Toss
  • Duck Races
  • Pumpkin Chunkin Range
  • Jumbo Tic Tac Toe
  • Corn Crib Pedal
  • Tractor Races
  • Haybale Mountain
