Firework Shows at the Lake of the Ozarks Memorial Day Weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend marks the unofficial start to Summer here at the Lake of the Ozarks!  Memorial Day weekend means there will be gorgeous fireworks displays over the water all weekend long. Fireworks are beautiful on their own, but when they are set off over the lake, the fantastic reflection of the show on the water is something extra-special indeed. Our family fun Lake of the Ozarks attraction has plenty for you to do during the daylight hours, and once the sun sets, there will be multiple fireworks displays happening all over the place! It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
