Celebrate National Family Fun Month at Bridal Cave!

August is National Family Fun Month! With Summer coming to a close soon, it's the perfect time to spend some time with family. Why not celebrate at Bridal Cave because it only makes sense to celebrate National Family Fun Month at the best family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks! Spending time outdoors with your family is a great way to unplug and enjoy time together. Bridal Cave offers several ways to enjoy some quality time with your family.

Panning For Gemstones

Kids (and adults!) LOVE panning for gemstones in our sluice. All you have to do is purchase a bag of sand inside the gift shop and take it outside to our sluice and pan for a variety of rough cut gemstones! The kids love finding treasures in the sand and the best part is this fun activity doubles as a souvenir! Depending on which bag you choose, you will go home with a variety of Emeralds, Fools Gold, Amethyst, Garnets, Sapphires, and more!

Take a Hike

As a part of Thunder Mountain Park, we have a 1/2 mile nature trail. Wind through the gorgeous scenery and make a stop at our outdoor classroom, see beautiful limestone shelves, and enjoy the beauty of the Northern slopes of Thunder Mountain Park. You should be able to catch a few cooler days in August which is perfect for taking a hike on the nature trail. There is no charge to hike the trail so you have no reason not to go!

Check Out Our Rock Shop

We have one of the largest rock shops at the Lake of the Ozarks. We love to see the kid's eyes light up when they see all of the wonderful treasures inside our shop. Sometimes it's just fun to look around and spend time learning about the different rocks and minerals we have in our shop. Don't worry about your kids touching everything because after all, they are rocks! They are more likely to break their toe than to damage our rocks.

Take an Underground Adventure

Of course, one of the best ways to spend time with your family at Bridal Cave is to take a tour of our cave at the Lake of the Ozarks! Guided tours leave every few minutes and last approximately one hour. Tours are conducted over concrete pathways through the Cave’s refreshing 60-degree environment. Park interpreters will lead you and your family through room after room of incredible mineral deposits. Giant columns, delicate soda straws, and massive draperies abound throughout the cave. Millions of years of struggle between water and rock have created this cavern with more onyx formations than any other known cave or cavern. In fact, thousands of school children each year explore Bridal Cave as part of their educational program. A tour through Bridal Cave is a family adventure you will never forget.

Family Fun...As it Should Be!

It's important to spend time with your family and even the little things like taking a day trip to Bridal Cave will leave you and your children with memories that they will never forget. It's great to celebrate National Family Fun Month with your children but why not get the entire family together? Call your mom, dad, grandma, grandpa, aunts, uncles etc... There is something for everyone to enjoy and having the whole family together will be so fun. We even offer a special group rate. If you have a group of 15 paid admissions, we will give you a 25% discounts if the tickets are purchased collectively. So what are you waiting for? Come celebrate Family Fun Month with us!
