Remodel Complete and New Merchandise in the Shop!

Thanks to the hard work of many local businesses here at the lake, our remodel is finally complete! Our family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks has been freshened up with new windows and doors, new carpet, new paint inside and out, and improved visitor wifi! Not only has our visitor center's appearance changed, but we have some brand new merchandise to display! We love when we get new items to display in our beautiful rock shop at the Lake of the Ozarks. Take a look at some of the new items we have this year!

New Styles of Himalayan Salt Lamps

We still have the popular rough cut lamps at the best prices but we have added salt cones, salt roses, and fire bowls. These 250 million-year-old lamps emit negative ions that cleanse and purify the air. These unique lamps provide a beautiful glow and create a calm relaxing atmosphere. These salt lamps are made of the best salt from Pakistan.

Blown Glass on Gamal Root Bases

The Gamal tree grows all over the islands in Indonesia. These Gamal roots come from the eastern island of Bali. Each root base is cleaned and kiln dried. Then Indonesian artisans hand blow and shape a glass vessel to perfectly match the root base. The fired glass takes the shape of the root and becomes one. The glass is then dipped and cooled into water to solidify its unique shape. Each piece is a work of art and truly one of a kind. We purchase these Gamal Roots from Indonesian farmer’s to help their local economy.


Carnelian Polished Flame from Madagascar

Carnelian has a long and storied past and was once considered strictly the property of the noble class. People holding a high social status were often buried with this gemstone.

Explore Thunder Mountain Park

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Establishing the park Thunder Mountain Park was established in 1950 in order to protect the caves within it.  The amazing colors and incredible onyx formations inside of Bridal Cave  are all formed by minerals from rain water that seeps into the ground. Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
