The suspense is killing us as we continue to prepare for our great big, exciting reunion for past and present employees at Bridal Cave! We are getting ready to celebrate our 70th year in business and what better way to celebrate than by getting the entire gang back together as we celebrate our 70th year in business at our Lake of the Ozarks family attraction! If it wasn't for our great past and present employees, Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park would not be the success it is today! You won't want to miss this once in a lifetime event!

We are now less than 3 weeks away from our 70th-anniversary employee reunion on April 14th. We have already heard from lots of you past employees, but we still need you to RSVP if you haven’t already. Just call 573-346-2676 to make your reservation. We need to know just how many people are coming in order to get the necessary supplies. We want this event to be one for the books! We can't wait to see everyone!

Employees From the Past 

We have employees from the 1950’s to present who have confirmed they are coming. We don’t want to ruin the surprise by giving out all the names of those coming but here are a few of the nicknames of past employees…see if these ring a bell…The Mad Norwegian, Number One, Little Johnny D, Sugar Shannon B, Radar, Senor, Dick, Red, Doddzilla, Captain Crevice, and The Judge. Bring back any memories??? Come join us for the fun!

Before the Employee Social 

On April 14th, we will have complimentary cave tours from 9am-5pm for all past and present employees. If you want to reminisce with your families about "the good old days when you were a tour guide" bring them out to check out still today one of Americas most scenic caverns!


Let the Party Begin!

We will be having a cookout from 6pm to 7pm at the old restaurant at the top of the hill catered by the Butcher Shop in Camdenton. We will be having hamburgers & hot dogs with all the trimmings and lemonade to drink. You are more than welcome to bring your favorite beverage. There will be a lot of historic memorabilia on display in the restaurant. And we have a few surprises left... BUT you will have to join us for the fun to find out just what those surprises are! At 7pm we will move down to the cave for a lakeside social complete with live music. Plan on joining us for an evening you won’t soon forget.

As our Employee Reunion and 70th Anniversary get closer, we will be continuing to prepare for this once in a lifetime event. PLEASE RSVP for the Employee Reunion if you plan to attend. The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
