Have an Adventure at Bridal Cave Before School Starts

Summer's not over yet, but the kids are already thinking about having to go back to school very soon. It's a great time to surprise them with a trip to our family fun Lake of the Ozarks Attraction. There is plenty to do and see at Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park to fill an entire, adventurous day.

Entertaining Activities

Our cave tour is full of educational facts, plus fun stories about its colorful history. The great big sluice in front of our gift shop allows you to pan for gemstones that you can take home as a souvenir. We've also got a machine that lets you break open your very own geode.

"We toured Bridal Cave with an excellent guide. For 45 minutes we marveled at the formations and learned a lot. Kids are easily captivated with the experience and on a hot day it's a great place to hang out."

Just For Kids

The "Kids Only" section of our website features the "Adventure News." You can download a copy or follow the links to articles containing lots of cool cave facts. It's a great way to get children excited about the cave tour before you visit us. You'll even find a cave safety activity page that you can do together and an experiment to try at home.

Educational

You will all be having so much fun, the kids won't even realize they are learning something! Our tour guides will tell you about all of the natural features inside the cave. That covers science. Next you'll hear all about the history of what happened here many years ago. A trip through the rock & mineral shop will allow you to view unique specimens from around the world.

An Entire Fun-Filled Day

The cave tour is only one of the fascinating things that awaits you at Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park. You can break for lunch or a quick snack at our covered lakeside picnic pavilion. There are nature trails to explore, and even a 100-foot tall fire tower with a viewing platform at 80 feet. The giant fish at the docks are always ready and waiting for visitors to feed them. It'a quite a sight to see.

"We've visited twice in July - once the July 4th weekend with our 16 year old and her group of friends, then again this weekend with our 13 year old and her friends. Both times the tour was great. Both tour guides shared different information so it wasn't strictly a memorized, scripted tour. I would suggest doing a week day if possible, and we found the last tour of the day seems to be the least busy so we had a much smaller group than most tours. The kids loved the cave, definitely a great option for a rainy day .. Or even just something different to do during your Ozarks visit. We also loved the gift shops, and thought items were reasonably priced."
