71st Dogwood Festival April 21st-23rd 2022!

The perfect way to kick off Spring is by attending the Camdenton Dogwood Festival this April! The Dogwood Festival will take place this year from April 21st-23rd. This festival is truly one of the best family fun events at the Lake and you won't want to miss it! You can look forward to a parade, crafts, music, entertainment, food, and more!

The Camdenton Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce the festival dates of April 21-23, 2022 for the official 71st Annual Dogwood Festival with the theme of “Small Town Proud.” Stay tuned in the coming weeks as more information becomes available. This popular Lake of the Ozarks annual event celebrates our beautiful state tree, the Flowering Dogwood. You will find many of these gorgeous trees all around Thunder Mountain Park, and in the spring they are in full glory. White blossoms are the most common, but you will also see pink dogwood trees around Missouri.


The Camdenton Chamber of Commerce website features detailed information about the entire event, including a map of the craft show and a list of vendors. Our family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks is right up the road from the Dogwood Festival so if you're looking for something fun to do in between activities, come take a tour of our Lake of the Ozarks Cave! While you're here why not take a hike on our 1/2 mile nature trail and see if you can spot a Dogwood!

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
