Learn More About Caves with the Missouri Department of Conservation Virtual Exploration!
Missouri is known as the Cave State with over 7,500 natural caves! There is a lot to learn about a cave's habitat and this coming Tuesday, you have the opportunity to learn from Missouri Naturalist, Shelly Colatskie. The Missouri Department of Conservation is putting together an Introduction to Cave's and Caving that can be attended virtually! Read on to learn more about this free event!
Habitats: Introduction to Caves and Caving
Registration period: May 17 - June 14
Date: Tuesday, June 15, 2021 9:30 am - Tuesday, June 15, 2021 2:30 pm
Location: Online only
We will briefly go over caves and safety. There will be a brief break as the in-person crew caravans over to Cliff Cave at Cliff Cave County Park. We will then hop back on virtually and go through folks getting gear on, and entering the cave. This will be a hybrid event, with a limited 10 person in-person program. We are making this experience virtual too.
Photos of the cave trip (cave life, etc.) will be sent tp all virtual participants.
More Classes Through the Missouri Department of Conversation
While this event is currently only open virtually, there were ten spots that have already been filled by a few lucky cave explorers. If you are interested in more classes through the MDC, be sure to check out their full list of events to attend.
