Summers at the Lake of the Ozarks of the Ozarks are HOT! The good news is, there are a lot of fun ways to help you stay cool! The weather is out of your control but you can still have fun by planning fun activities to help cool you down. Today, our family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks has a few ideas for staying cool this summer! 



Big Surf Water Park 

The only outdoor waterpark in the area, Big Surf Waterpark is a hot spot for summer fun! Kids and adults of all ages can take advantage of the thrilling rides, relaxing features, and kid-friendly games available at the waterpark. Soak up the sun all summer long at this Lake of the Ozarks waterpark!


Head to a Beach

The Lake of the Ozarks State Park has TWO public swimming beaches perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. Public Beach 1, located off Highway 134, and Public Beach 2, in the Grand Glaize area of the park off Highway 54 west of the Grand Glaize bridge. 

Indoor FUN!

If you are looking for a way to not only beat the heat but also take a break from the sun, there are several family fun indoor attractions at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Main Street Music Hall 

If you're looking for a fun show to watch, the Main Street Music is located in Osage and offers a couple great music shows! Visit their website to get tickets and learn more about their current shows. 

Minor Mikes 

Miner Mike is an indoor 50,000 sq. ft family fun center that features exciting rides, challenging games, simulators, and great food. Fun for the whole family! 


Refreshing 60 Degree Cave Tour! 

Of course, saving the BEST for last.... take a tour of Bridal Cave! Our cave remains a constant 60 degrees! Cooling off for an hour during your tour is the perfect way to spend your vacation with family and friends. We have a sportswear shop and rock shop to do some shopping indoors. The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
