We are gearing up for our favorite annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks - Bridal Cave Wedding Vow Renewals! Each year on Sunday before Valentine's Day we host free vow renewal ceremonies for any married couple. Over 3,500 couples have exchanged vows at Bridal Cave, and we look forward to increasing this number on February 9th, 2020. Not only will you get to renew your vows, but you will also receive FREE gifts from other Lake Area businesses! Read on to learn about our annual vow renewal ceremonies and the other gifts you will receive for participating!



On Sunday, February 9th, 2020 from 9 am - 4 pm, we will have a wedding officiant at the cave to assist our couples in renewing their marriage vows in lieu of the most romantic day of the year. There is no charge to participate in this event. Along with this momentous and special opportunity, each couple will receive the following items.

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
