FUN February Events at Lake of the Ozarks!

Do the winter blues have you down? Well, cheer up because February at the Lake of the Ozarks is going to be a FUN month! There are all kinds of annual events at the Lake of Ozarks going on, so if January has had you down with nothing to do, why not plan to attend a few fun events! Wobbly Boots Whiskey Dinner, January 28th, 2019

Wobbly Boots has been piling up local and national BBQ awards for over 25 years! They are getting ready to host another one of their famous gourmet Fireside Whiskey Dinners at the end of January. They will feature a delicious specialty menu with items that pair amazingly with bourbons and whiskeys. Dinner will begin at 6:30 pm on Monday, January 28, 2019, and will feature savory whiskey cocktails and tastings from the Jim Beam family. Tickets are $60 each and space is limited. Annual FREE Vow Renewals at Bridal Cave! February 10th, 2019

Of course, the best event happening in February is our free wedding vow renewal! Bridal Cave cordially invites you to celebrate Valentine’s Day with us. Renew your wedding vows on Sunday, February 10th from 9am to 4pm. Each couple will receive fresh flowers for the Bride from Janine’s Flowers, Lindsey Webster Photography will take a wedding portrait available for download online, a Goodie Bag with lake area discounts and a Lifetime Pass to Bridal Cave at NO CHARGE!

Mardi-Gras Pub Crawl, February 16th, 2019 

Just because it's winter outside doesn't mean that there is nothing to do at the Lake! The largest Mardi-Gras Pub Crawl takes place right here at the Lake of the Ozarks! This is the biggest annual party at the Lake and you won't want to miss it! Be safe and leave your keys and take the bus! Wrist bands are only $10 and it will get you into all the bars participating in the area. The bus will pick you up at your designated lodging facility and will run from 4:00 pm to 2:30 am! Polar Plunge Lake of the Ozarks, February 23rd, 2019

The Polar Plunge takes place every year at the Lake of the Ozarks and it benefits the local Special Olympics athletes by "plunging" into the Lake of the Ozarks in the middle of winter! Participants must be at least 10 years old and raise a minimum of $75. To form a team, join a team, register, or donate to the 2019 Polar Plunge at the Lake of the Ozarks, please visit their website.

Winterfest at Tan-Tar-A Resort, Saturday, February 23rd, 2019

Put on by the Lake Ozarks Daybreak Rotary, Winterfest 2019 will be held at Tan-Tar-A Resort. This year the theme is a 90's Party, so be sure to dress for the occasion! Tickets are $60 each or a table of 10 for $600 and will include the buffet and there will be a live and silent auction. 

We weren't kidding when we said there are a lot of fun events happening at the Lake of the Ozarks this February! It's only the beginning of the exciting lake events in 2019! We hope to see you at our unique wedding venue at the Lake of the Ozarks for our vow renewals!

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
