✈ Lake of the Ozarks Air Show THIS WEEKEND! ✈

The Lake of the Ozarks is full of fun annual events. This weekend, Saturday, September 22, 2018 is the Lake of the Ozarks Air Show at the Camdenton Memorial Lake Regional Airport. Vendor booths will open at 10:00 am and the show will conclude at 3:00 pm.  This annual event at the Lake of the Ozarks is going to be packed with entertainment for folks of all ages to enjoy. This day will consist of areal displays, static displays, vendor booths, car vs. plane rases, and much more. Your friends underground here at Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park have all the details for what to expect at the Air Show this year!

Air-Show Acts 

Saturday will be a full day of fun and exciting air show acts. Expect to see a wide variety of planes sore through the sky. This year, you will get to see modified Pitts, Bi-Plane low level routines, WWII era aircraft, 1940s vintage Super Stearman, and much more! Kid's Area 

The Air Show is family friendly and even includes a Fun Kids Area. The Sharing and Caring Foundation and Old Kinderhook are co-sponsoring the designated kid's area this year. Bring the kiddos out to enjoy a bounce house, Kent Klowns tattoos and bubbles, The cost for kids to bounce all day is $5 and when you purchase 2 kids passes, you get the third one free!

Ping Pong Ball Drop 

One of the biggest hits for the kids is the Ping Pong Ball Drop. Hundreds of ping pong balls are dropped out of an airplane and the kids get to go out and retrieve them for a prize! This year, Bridal Cave will be sponsoring the Ping Pong Ball Drop so you will have a chance to win a Family Pass for four! There will also be a few special marked ping pong balls to win a Big Surf Waterpark ticket.

There will be numerous food and beverage vendors at this event. Coolers and outside food is not permitted to this event but don't worry there will some delicious options to choose from.

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
