Reasons to Visit a Show!

We have a lot of folks that come on our cave tour at the Lake of the Ozarks that are frequent visitors of Show Caves around the United States. There are Show Caves all over the United States and if you are on vacation chances are you will pass a Show Cave on your way to your destination or there may even be one where you are going! Spelunking, which is a fancy word for cave exploring, is a popular activity for the entire family to enjoy. There are all kinds of cave tours around the US from handicap accessible, easy concrete pathways, Jeep rides through caverns, by boat, adventure tours, and more! Just be sure to call first because every cave is different and there may be restrictions depending on your individual health. We could go on forever as to why you should visit Show Caves around the US but for today we will stick with just a few.

No Two Caves are Alike!

One misconception about visiting caves is that once you see one cave there is no need to see another one because you will just be seeing the same thing. This is not true AT ALL! Every single cave has their own individual history, varying formations, bodies of water or springs, waterfalls, and much more! Here at Bridal Cave, we are known for being one of Americas Most Scenic Caverns. This is because we have an enormous about of formations including giant columns, delicate soda straws and massive draperies abound throughout the cave. Millions of years of struggle between water and rock have created this cavern with more onyx formations than any other known cave or cavern. While Ruby Falls in Tennessee is known for their massive underground waterfall! Just about every cave has something they are famous for, and you will have to visit them all to see just what that is.

Cave Tours are Educational

Visiting a cave is a fun experience for folks of all ages. The best part is if you are taking your kiddos through a cave they are having fun and they may not even notice that they are learning something in the process! On many tours around the US you will learn about cave history, American history, all about cave formations, species in the cave, and more! Just like no two caves are visually alike, you will learn something new on every cave tour.

Spend Quality Time With Family & Friends

One of the biggest reasons you should visit as many Show Caves as you possibly can is because you get to spend quality time with your friends and family! There is just something about being in nature that brings the whole family together. Taking a break from the screens and getting out in nature gives you a mental break and studies show that nature can boost your mental and physical health.

Exploring a cave will leave you with memories that last a lifetime! Most caves allow you take to take pictures so take plenty of photos with your friends and family as possible and relive your vacation for years to come. Many caves even offer a professional family photo to take home as a souvenir!
