Join the Adventure of CavesLIVE for FREE Online This March

Bridal Cave is a member of the National Caves Association, and along with them and in cooperation with the U.S. Forest Service, we are very proud to be a part of an exciting new program - CavesLIVE! This educational program was put together in an effort to teach young students about the wonders that await them underground, but it is a wonderful opportunity for cave lovers of all ages to learn more about places much like our underground Lake of the Ozarks scenic attraction.

What is CavesLIVE?
The U.S. Forest Service has been working on a wonderful program which they have titled "CavesLIVE" because it will give everyone a live look at the amazing things that can be found underground, as well as offer a live Q&A session with scientists that are experts on the subject. This "distance learning adventure" is being made possible so that people that do not have access to this experience in person can enjoy it too.

It will also raise awareness about the beauty of caves hoping to encourage more people to check them out. They want to bring a new understanding of these resources that are seldom seen and considered mysterious and make them available to everyone.

On March 14, 2018 at 11:00 am (Central Time) there will be a FREE, LIVE question and answer program broadcast from Luray Caverns in Virginia. It can be viewed on the CavesLIVE website at www.CavesLIVE.org, or through live feeds on their Facebook and YouTube channels. You can register for more information by visiting the website also.

What You Will Discover
This spectacular event will showcase the many things that are waiting to be discovered just below the surface. This includes specially adapted animals, mirror pools, sparkling crystals, domed caverns, and twisting tunnels. If you've had the chance to explore Bridal Cave, then you are familiar with these beautiful things. If you haven't, maybe this program will make you want to pay us a visit!

CavesLIVE will explore a wide variety of topics like geology, ecology, and the cultural importance of these wondrous places underground. They will be releasing a 45-minute video on their website in February entitled "CavesLIVE: Bringing Caves and Karst to Light."

Everyone is invited to view this video to become more familiar with the subject. Then you can come up with a list of questions that you would like to ask the scientists during the CavesLIVE event in March. Their website is also an excellent source of information about all things caves and karst for students, teachers, and anyone that simply has an interest in the subject.
