Enjoy Some Scenic, Natural Family Fun This Holiday Weekend

This Thursday is a time for family and friends to gather, give thanks, and enjoy some quality time together. After that, over the holiday weekend, you should get everyone out of the house for some exciting fun at our year-round Lake of the Ozarks attraction. Bridal Cave will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, but we'll be open every other day from 9 am - 4 pm for all kinds of family fun.

Gorgeous Views, Inside and Out
You never know what the weather is going to bring our way in this area, so there's an excellent chance that the temperatures will be favorable for a nice walk along the trails of Thunder Mountain Park. We've also got a breathtaking view of the Lake of the Ozarks here, with a couple of amazing scenic overlooks.

Once you step inside America's most scenic cave tour, it doesn't matter what the weather is like outside, because Bridal Cave is always a comfortable 60° underground. That means even if it's too cold to enjoy the outdoors, you can still have a beautiful nature adventure with the whole family for the holidays. Tours leave every few minutes, and there are so many gorgeous details in the cave, you're bound to see something new each time you take the tour.

Great Shopping Too
We boast an incredible gift shop at the Lake of the Ozarks, so you'll even have the chance to get a little of your holiday shopping done while you're here having fun. Entertain the kids by letting them pick out a geode and watch it get cracked open in our special machine while you browse the many unique items that we carry.

As a matter of fact, right now we are trying to clear our shelves as much as possible to make room for some updates to the gift shop, so we are hosting a huge Remodel Sale! You'll find unbelievable discounts between 50%-75% off on many of our popular items, like Amethyst Cathedrals, Large Agate Slices & Bookends, Salt Lamps, Salt Fire Bowls, Fossils, Mexican & Pakistani Onyx, and much more. If you've got someone on your list that is hard to shop for because they seem to have everything, pick them up one of our unique gift items, many of which are one-of-a-kind.

Lake Area Family Fun
After your tour of Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park, there are lots of other fun activities in the lake area that you can entertain the entire family with. These include:

  • Holiday Light Displays - Funlake.com has a list of the many different holiday light displays around the lake area that will be open over Thanksgiving weekend through the end of December. You can find details on their "Lake Events" page alongside many other fun events happening in the area.
  • Old Kinderhook Ice Skating - The outdoor ice skating rink at Old Kinderhook is open for the season. They also host a "Christmas Village" on the weekends with s'mores, fire pits, carolers, horse-drawn carriages, fun activities, and even Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves! This is just a very short drive from Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park!
  • Miner Mike's Indoor Family Fun Center - This indoor play place and arcade will be open Friday-Sunday over the holiday weekend. It's fun for the adults too, and you can even take turns sneaking away to the Outlet Mall across the street to get some of that holiday shopping done.
