July is National Picnic Month - Celebrate at Bridal Cave!

Did you know that July is National Picnic Month? Picnics are a great way to spend time outdoors this summer and since July is National Picnic Month, we can't think of a better time to pack a picnic and head over to our outdoor attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks and enjoy the beautiful outdoors! Today, our family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks has some ideas on how to enjoy national picnic month when you visit Bridal Cave!

Enjoy a Picnic Lunch at Our Pavillion

Here at Thunder Mountain Park, we have a nice covered pavilion overlooking the Lake of the Ozarks for all of our guests to enjoy. Under our pavilion, you will find convenient picnic tables perfect for enjoying your lunch in the park! There is just something great about packing a picnic lunch to enjoy with your family in the great outdoors! Not to mention, you will get to enjoy a spectacular view of the lake during your lunch!

What to Pack

If it's been a while since you've packed a picnic, you may not know what to bring. Check out our list of picnic packing essentials below!

Frozen Water Bottles

You'll need a way to keep your food cold and a great way to do so is with frozen water bottles! You'll likely be limited on space and by using frozen water bottles instead of ice packs, you save space because after they melt, you can drink the water!

Wet Wipes

It's a good idea to pack away some wet wipes to wipe up any messes and clean up your hands if they get sticky after your lunch.

Cutlery & Paper Plates

Don't forget to bring your cutlery and paper plates to eat off of! This may seem like a no-brainer, but it's easy to forget!

Favorite Picnic Food

Of course, the main items you will want to bring is your picnic lunch! You can keep it simple with sandwiches, fruit, and chips or you can get more extravagant with fun picnic recipes like vegetable skewers, ham & cheese roll-ups, homemade lemonade, or your favorite pasta salad recipe. It doesn't really matter what you pack for your picnic, as long as you bring something delicious and have fun!

Take a Cave Tour While You're Here!

While you are here, either before or after, be sure to make plans to take a tour of Bridal Cave while you're here! Bridal Cave is one of America's most scenic cave tours and guided tours of the cave leave every few minutes. Tours are conducted over concrete pathways through the Cave’s refreshing 60-degree environment. Park interpreters will lead you and your family through room after room of incredible mineral deposits. July is just about halfway over, so gather your favorite picnic recipes and make plans to visit the #1 family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks for a picnic and some Family Fun...As It Should Be!
