July is officially in full swing, and the outdoors are heating up! You want to be careful not to overheat and that's why today, our family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks has some tips for beating the heat this Summer! We may not be able to control the weather but we can do a few things to beat the heat this summer! During periods of high temperatures, it's important to always drink plenty of fluids. You don't want to get dehydrated and drinking plenty of fluids can help keep you cool. Being out in the sun is a lot of fun but it's important to take a break to cool off every once in a while. Use a fan or go into the air conditioning for a while to cool off. Once you've taken some time to cool off you can head back out and enjoy some more fun in the sun! Family Fun at the Lake of the Ozarks: Indoor, Outdoor, & Underground!

Some people may assume that the lake area is strictly a sunny, summer day place to visit. While it is a marvelous spot to travel when the weather cooperates, there are plenty of family fun Lake of the Ozarks attractions that you can enjoy no matter what Mother Nature brings our way.  Whether the sun is shining or it's raining, between Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park , Miner Mike's indoor Family Fun Center, and Big Surf Waterpark, you will have something exciting to experience.  Outdoor   Big Surf Waterpark near Camdenton is filled with amazing water rides to cool you off on a hot day. Caves Are Fun, No Matter What the Weather!

The days are getting colder outside and a lot of attractions around the Lake area have closed down for the season.  Well, the best year-round attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks is still open, and we will stay open, no matter what the weather.  It doesn't matter what's going on outside because Bridal Cave remains a pleasant 60 degrees all of the time.   Bridal Cave has been in continuous, year-round operation since 1948.  It can be freezing in the winter and blistery hot in the summer outdoors, but our cave temperature remains at a comfortable 60 degrees.  This phenomena has a name - the "Mean Temperature."  If you add together the high temperature of each day for a year and average those, you will come up with 60 degrees.  Cool, huh!
