How to Beat the Heat this Summer at Lake of the Ozarks

July is officially in full swing, and the outdoors are heating up! You want to be careful not to overheat and that's why today, our family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks has some tips for beating the heat this Summer! We may not be able to control the weather but we can do a few things to beat the heat this summer!



During periods of high temperatures, it's important to always drink plenty of fluids. You don't want to get dehydrated and drinking plenty of fluids can help keep you cool. Being out in the sun is a lot of fun but it's important to take a break to cool off every once in a while. Use a fan or go into the air conditioning for a while to cool off. Once you've taken some time to cool off you can head back out and enjoy some more fun in the sun! Head to a Beach

The Lake of the Ozarks State Park has TWO public swimming beaches perfect for cooling off on a hot summer day. Public Beach 1, located off Highway 134, and Public Beach 2, in the Grand Glaize area of the park off Highway 54 west of the Grand Glaize bridge.

Visit a Waterfront Resturant & Bar 

The Lake of the Ozarks is full of FUN waterfront restaurant and bars! A lot of the waterfront bars at the Lake have pools and most are family friendly. Beat the heat by heading to a waterfront bar with a pool and have a delicious meal while you're there!

Big Surf Water Park 

The only outdoor waterpark in the area, Big Surf Waterpark is a hot spot for summer fun! Kids and adults of all ages can take advantage of the thrilling rides, relaxing features, and kid-friendly games available at the waterpark. Soak up the sun all summer long at this Lake of the Ozarks waterpark!

Indoor FUN!

If you are looking for a way to not only beat the heat but also take a break from the sun, there are several family fun indoor attractions at the Lake of the Ozarks!

Indoor Trampoline Park

Jets trampoline park is located in Osage Beach and is a fun way to get out of the sun and burn off some energy at the same time.

Minor Mikes 

Miner Mike is an indoor 50,000 sq. ft family fun center that features exciting rides, challenging games, simulators, and great food. Fun for the whole family! 

Main Street Music Hall 

If you're looking for a fun show to watch, the Main Street Music is located in Osage and offers a couple great music shows! Visit their website to get tickets and learn more about their current shows.
