Our Reunion was Truly a Night to Remember!

Image
As many of you already know, Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park celebrated their 70th Anniversary this past Saturday, April 14th, 2018. To celebrate this huge accomplishment, we hosted an employee reunion. Wow, what a night we had! This event was defiantly one for the books. It truly exceeded our expectations as current and past employees got to share memories made at Bridal Cave! Our family attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks has been a true success and we owe a lot of that to our wonderful employees.

Reunion Recap  Our night started at the old German Restaurant at the top of the hill. (We recently acquired the property, look for future blogs to see the plans we have for this space!) We shared memories and socialized over dinner provided by the Butcher Shop in Camdenton. Our staff and Joyce Thompson and Sheryl Murdock worked really hard to decorate the space. The decorations alone made the night one to truly remember! We had every wall covered in old and new Bridal Cave memorabil…

From filming on behalf of the Oklahoma Geological Foundation to helping our fellow cave friends at Onondaga Cave in Leasburg, Missouri, it has been a busy week at Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park! Read today's blog to learn about what's been going on in the park this week.

Filming in Our Cave!  This past week  we were honored to have Todd Kent do filming in the cave for the interactive earth science video project for public schools called "Every Day Earth." Todd Kent is working on behalf of the Oklahoma Geological Foundation, a non-profit corporation, to create a video based earth science curriculum for public schools.

About Every Day Earth  With the increase in technology, kids are using technology more and more. In fact, most kid's today would rathe…

That's why Expedia, one of the top travel websites, put together a list of Americans favorite destinations to visit. They polled 1,000 people to determine their favorite small and medium sized towns to visit in the US. The most frequently mentioned cities were put on list and Camdenton, Mo made the cut! Even better, our Lake of the Ozarks scenic attraction was mentioned in the article!

Article Details Expedia writes, "Step below the surface of Camdenton and enter a whole new world, complete with stalagmites, stalactites, and even an underground lake. A tour of Bridal Cave uncovers nature’s mysterious ways, where onyx formations include massive columns, unique…

New Improvements Happening at Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park

Image
A few months ago we wrote a blog about Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park's big remodel sale that was happening to reduce our inventory so there would be less to move during the Visitor Center's remodel. Well, makeover time is here, and as you read this, our family fun attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks is undergoing a few changes that will make us look better than ever!

Please Pardon Our Construction
Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park are still open during this remodeling process, but we ask that you please pardon the look of the place while it is going on. As hard as it may be to believe, our Visitor Center is almost 30 years old! With all of the wonderful people that visit our beautiful scenic attraction every year, this building has withstood a lot of wear and tear. It deserves a fresh look.

For the next few weeks, we will be remodeling the Visitor Center with:

New windows and doorsNew carpetNew paint, both inside and outImproved visitor WiFi
