A Heartfelt Surprise 65th Wedding Anniversary Inside Bridal Cave!

The emotions were high on Sunday, September 9th, 2018 inside Bridal Cave. We had the opportunity to be a part of a surprise 65th wedding anniversary. Frank and Peggy Brown's extremely thoughtful children reached out to us to help plan a romantic and intimate surprise inside our cave at the Lake of the Ozarks and we were happy to help! 65th Wedding Anniversary Surprise!

On September 9th, 2018 Frank and Peggy Brown celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Their children wanted to do something special for them so they planned a romantic anniversary surprise in honor of their accomplishment. Mr. and Mrs. Brown celebrated their honeymoon in 1953 with a trip to Bridal Cave with longtime friends. What better way to celebrate their milestone 65th anniversary than revisiting their honeymoon destination! Their children gathered to surprise their parents with a heartfelt rendition of "Could I Have This Dance" in honor of their 65th anniversary. Watch the full video on our Facebook Page!

Over 3,000 weddings have been performed inside Bridal Cave’s beautiful stalactite adorned Bridal Chapel or in the Pavilion overlooking Lake of the Ozarks. Annual Vow Renuel 

Every year around Valentines Day Bridal Cave hosts an Annual Wedding Vow Renewal! Whether you've been married for 50 years or more, or if you just got married this month, all married couples are welcome to join us for the wedding vow renewals, and it is absolutely free! All you need to do is show up anytime from 9 am-4 pm. This is a wonderful yearly event that we truly enjoy hosting for the incredible people that come to our Lake of the Ozarks scenic attraction. This year our Vow Renewal will take place on Sunday, February 10th, 2019 from 9am to 4pm.

Our staff at Bridal Cave was honored to be a part of such a special moment inside our Bridal Chapel. It was clear that Frank and Peggy Brown still love each other after 65 years of marriage! We were happy to help plan such a special surprise! Congratulations Frank and Peggy Brown!

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
