Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park Are Wonderful Places For Romance!

Everyone knows that we are an excellent Lake of the Ozarks outdoor attraction that is fun and entertaining for people of all ages, but did you know that it's also a wonderful place to find a little romance? We obviously have that amazingly unique wedding venue inside the cave, but Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park have also been the setting for some sweet dates and even quite a few wedding proposals! Here are just a few ways that romance is in the air around here.

Date Night
Actually, date day rather than night, but you get the idea. This is an excellent spot to bring someone who loves nature. There are trails to walk together, hand-in-hand, and a gorgeous lake view to enjoy from either the lakeside picnic pavilion or one of our scenic overlooks. You can reach the park by boat, so we can be one of many stops during a romantic boat ride on the beautiful lake. If you're looking for a date that involves something different than dinner and a movie, this is the perfect spot!

Engagements
One way that we know Thunder Mountain Park is a great place to find love is by the many engagements we have seen take place here over the years. A couple of years ago we even wrote an entire blog dedicated to the unique wedding proposals at Bridal Cave. Inside the cave is a popular spot for gentlemen to get down on one knee, but it's happened elsewhere too, including right on the boat dock. Valentine's Day is coming up soon, which happens to fall in "engagement season," so if you've been looking for a special way to pop the question, you might consider bringing her here.

Weddings and Vow Renewals
When Bridal Cave opened to the public in 1948, there were no plans to host weddings inside it. Due to the many requests that began coming in, the very first wedding inside our stalactite-adorned underground wedding chapel at the Lake of the Ozarks took place on June 1, 1949. Since then, thousands of couples from all around the world have tied the knot here.

We've had quite a few husbands and wives renew their vows here too, mainly due to the fact that we host an annual wedding vow renewal every year near Valentine's Day. This much-anticipated event is offered to all married couples and is absolutely free, although we are asking everyone to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit The Lamb House of Camdenton.

This year the romantic event will take place on Sunday, February 11, 2018, from 9 am - 4 pm. All couples that participate not only get to vow their love to one another all over again, but they will also receive:

  • Fresh flowers for the bride from Janine's Flowers
  • A wedding portrait available for download by Lindsey Webster Photography
  • A goodie bag filled with lake area gifts and discounts
  • A LIFETIME pass to Bridal Cave

So for everyone that is looking to add some more romance to their life, bring your sweetheart to our Lake of the Ozarks scenic attraction. Love is not only in the air here, it's in the cave and on the trails too! If you have your own romantic story about Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park, we'd love to hear it.
