AquaPalooza is Coming to the Lake of the Ozarks

There are lots of exciting annual events at the Lake of the Ozarks, and this weekend Dog Days Bar & Grill will be hosting the largest 1-day boating event at the lake - AquaPalooza! Today Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park have gathered all of the details for any of you that are searching for some musical fun in the sun.

Thousands of people attend this free summer event every year, many by land, but most show up on one of the hundreds of boats that fill the water around Dog Days. The Lake of the Ozarks Marine Dealers Association, along with many more local sponsors, invite everyone to enjoy an afternoon full of boating, family, friends, games, prizes, food, drinks, and a free concert featuring four incredible bands.

Lakeside Concert

Beginning at noon, four bands will be performing on the special waterfront stage put up especially for this event. Each one represents a different musical style.


  • State Line Drive - Country/pop music from five talented young gentlemen from the Midwest. 
  • The Mixtapes - The premier 90's tribute band, performing songs from many artists including Nirvana, No Doubt, Beastie Boys, Spice Girls, and more.  
  • Seven Bridges Road - This band plays all of your favorite hits from the incredible band The Eagles. 
  • Members Only - All of the best 80's music comes from this high-energy group. You'll hear the music of Journey, Michael Jackson, Def Leppard, Prince Bon Jovi, and many more. 

  
It's just a short trip to Osage Beach from Bridal Cave, by both land and water. There will be plenty of excitement to be had on the deck at the restaurant and floating in the lake in front of the stage. Enjoy this awesome event on Saturday, then stop by our Lake of the Ozarks scenic attraction on Sunday. The weekend's big enough for all types of lake area fun.

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
