New Rocks and Minerals at Bridal Cave!!

This is one of our favorite times of year because we get new merchandise for our rock shop! We have the largest rock and mineral shop at the Lake of the Ozarks and we love it when new shipments come in. We've been unboxing a lot of new rocks, minerals, and gemstone here at Thunder Mountain Park and we're so excited about it that we couldn't wait to share them with you! Read on to find out what new things we're bringing to the Rock Shop!

Amethyst

A semiprecious stone that can credit its beautiful color to irradiation, iron impurities, and the presence of trace elements. Its name's origin might surprise you- it comes from the Ancient Greek: a ("not) and methystos ("intoxicated") Greeks used to make drinking vessels adorned with this stone believing that it would keep them from becoming intoxicated. Amethyst is also believed to bring about: serenity, peace, courage, happiness, pain relief, enhanced psychic abilities, and much more. The Amethyst Churches in our gift shop make a stunning addition to any room.

This gorgeous piece of amethyst was constructed into a side table and is sure to be an excellent conversation piece in your home!

Giant Geodes

The name geode is derived from the Greek word Geoides which means earthlike. They are mysterious, spherical rocks. We say mysterious because geologists have long debated just how they are formed. These round rocks have a hollow cavity in the center that may or may not contain crystals. If yours turns out to be solid, it is called a nodule.

Large Salt Lamps

We've had salt lamps in our shops for many years, but this year they're even bigger and better! These 250 million-year-old lamps emit negative ions that cleanse and purify the air. These unique lamps provide a beautiful glow and create a calm relaxing atmosphere. These salt lamps are made of the best salt from Pakistan.

Pyrite

You may know this better as "Fool's Gold." Pyrite is the most common of the sulfate minerals, and this name also has Greek origins, coming from their work pyrites ("of fire" or "in fire")
