The Mini Shootout Meet and Greet at Bridal Cave is Almost Here!

Have you heard? Bridal Cave is hosting the Mini Shootout Meet & Greet at our natural attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks! The Meet and Greet will take place on Friday, August 16th from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm. This is your opportunity to not only meet the drivers but also participate in the fun activities we have in store! Meet the Drivers!

The night before the big race, you'll have the chance to meet the drivers and see the remote control boats up close and personal! If you've never had the opportunity to see what these remote control boats look like, you're in for a treat. They certainly aren't your average remote control boats - they can go over 100mph and they look like miniature versions of real speedboats! Plus, you'll get to interact with the drivers.

Live Bluegrass Music! 

We will have live music in the park for the meet and greet! If you've been to our Thunder Mountain Fall Festival before, then you've probably heard the ever so popular Jim & Darlene! They will be back in the park for the meet and greet and we are excited to have them!

Food Trucks 

You won't need to worry about eating before you come because we will have two delicious food trucks in the parking lot serving dinner and dessert!

The Broken Rib 

The Lake Area’s Premier Food Truck! They have a passion for food and bringing a fresh menu right to you! We have had them in the park before we can say from personal experience that their food is delicious! 

Scoops: Hot Eats & Cool Treats 

There is nothing better than a warm summer evening and ice cream! Scoops Ice Cream is a local ice cream food truck! Scoops Ice Cream will have their food truck at the meet and greet ready to serve some of the best ice cream and other delicious treats as well! If you've been to any of the concerts at the Ozarks Ampehither, you may have seen them there!

Cave Tours

You'll have to opportunity to see the Lake of the Ozarks most popular natural attraction because we'll be giving tours beyond our normal business hours just for the meet and greet! A portion of each cave tour ticket sold will go towards the Shootout Charity! 

End of Season Clearance 

We will be having a HUGE sale in both of our shops! We have the largest rock shop at the Lake of the Ozarks and our sportswear shop will be included in the big sale as well. You won't want to miss it! 

Mini Shootout, Saturday, August 17th & Sunday, August 18th

The main event will take place at Ha Ha Tonka State Park on Saturday and Sunday at the Spring Trail by land or by water at the 14.5 Mile Marker.

Friday – Noon – 4 p.m.: Set Up @ The Springs at Ha Ha Tonka,
5 – 8 p.m.: Meet & Greet @ Bridal Cave.

Saturday – 9am to 5pm: Mini Shootout @ The Springs at Ha Ha Tonka

Sunday – 9am to noon: Mini Shootout w/Awards Following @ The Springs at Ha Ha Tonka Awards following.

You won't want to miss the meet and greet at Bridal Cave! You'll get the chance to get up close and personal to the fastest remote control boats around and meet the drivers too! You may even catch the remote control racing bug! We hope to see at the meet and greet on Friday, August 16th!

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
