New Improvements Happening at Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park

A few months ago we wrote a blog about Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park's big remodel sale that was happening to reduce our inventory so there would be less to move during the Visitor Center's remodel. Well, makeover time is here, and as you read this, our family fun attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks is undergoing a few changes that will make us look better than ever!

Please Pardon Our Construction
Bridal Cave and Thunder Mountain Park are still open during this remodeling process, but we ask that you please pardon the look of the place while it is going on. As hard as it may be to believe, our Visitor Center is almost 30 years old! With all of the wonderful people that visit our beautiful scenic attraction every year, this building has withstood a lot of wear and tear. It deserves a fresh look.

For the next few weeks, we will be remodeling the Visitor Center with:

  • New windows and doors
  • New carpet
  • New paint, both inside and out
  • Improved visitor WiFi

New For 2018

There is a lot going on around here to get ready for the start or the busy season. Our huge remodel sale in the gift shop was very successful, but don't worry, because we have lots of new items arriving soon. Once the remodel is over, the shelves will be restocked with some of the best new rock and mineral specimens we have ever had.

Parking is being improved too. We are expanding the parking lot with more spaces, and also shaping it to have a better traffic flow. No more waiting in line for a parking spot when you come to visit us! There should be plenty of room for everyone.

Last, but certainly not least, you may have heard some rumors going around that Bridal Cave purchased the old Der Essen Platz restaurant at the top of the hill. Well... those rumors are true! That building will be under renovation during 2018, but we have tentative plans to open it for spring 2019. Keep an eye out for future announcements about this exciting project.

Special Thanks
Some wonderful local businesses have played a big part in making the improvements to our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction possible. We would like to say a special thank you to:

  • Skip's Construction Services
  • Paint Doctors
  • Mark's Mobile Glass
  • Kenny Carroll Excavating
  • Mainstreet Asphalt
  • Nancy's Carpet
  • S & L Window Services

It's been a very busy winter here at Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park. Unfortunately, we did have one very disappointing moment. Our Annual Wedding Vow Renewals had to be canceled this year due to icy weather. We were unable to reschedule them because construction was already scheduled to begin this week, limiting our ability to handle a crowd as large as we usually get for that incredible event. Not to worry, though, because it will definitely be back again next Valentine's Day. (We'll try to have a talk with Mr. Groundhog about that shadow thing!)

Looking on the bright side, we are very excited and anxious to show all of you around our amazing Lake of the Ozarks attraction starting with Spring Break 2018. The remodel should be completed by March 3rd, and we can't wait for you to get a look at the improvements. We'll see you all soon!
