The Festival of Lights at the Shrine of St. Patrick, Hwy 5, Laurie, is the oldest light park in the area. It was started in 1981 with hundreds of lights decorating the buildings and grounds and has continued to grow each year. With 4,000 strings of lights, over 60 automatic timers and more than 350 extension cords, the Festival of Lights has turned into one of the major places to see. Instead of animated displays, the focus is on the true meaning of Christmas, Jesus and His Mother, Mary.

St. Patrick Festival of Lights will be open daily from 5 – 10 p.m. from Thanksgiving through January 9th. There is no charge for this beautiful light display, it is simply our gift to the community.

Camdenton Christmas on the Square kicks off with a tree lighting ceremony on December 3, 2021 from 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm.

There will be a Live Reindeer Display, Photos with Mrs. Claus, Hot Chocolate & Mulled Cider, and a performance by the Bell Choir.

On Saturday December 4, 2021 Christmas on the Square continues from 10:30 am - 1:00 pm.

Santa arrives at 11:30 am. There will be Games & Prizes, Petting Zoo, Music, Nativity Scene, Crafts, Giveaways, Hot Dogs, Cookies, Hot Chocolate.

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Establishing the park Thunder Mountain Park was established in 1950 in order to protect the caves within it.  The amazing colors and incredible onyx formations inside of Bridal Cave  are all formed by minerals from rain water that seeps into the ground. It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
