It's Comfy in the Cave

Even if it's a little chilly to be hanging around outside at the park, it's always a comfortable 60° inside Missouri's most scenic cave tour, allowing you to get out of the house and into nature without freezing or being too hot! 


If you're ready to get out of the house, bring the family here and get back to nature!  We are open daily from 9 am - 4 pm with Bridal Cave tours leaving every few minutes.

Check Out Cool Stuff That "Rocks"

Our Lake of the Ozarks gift shop and rock shop is great for viewing some gorgeous minerals and learning more about geology. While you're inside, there are lots of unique and amazing rocks, minerals, and gemstones to see. You can even pick out a geode of your very own and have us crack it open right before your eyes to uncover the wonders waiting for you inside of it.

Take a Hike 

On a warm spring day, you can take a hike! As a part of Thunder Mountain Park, we have a 1/2 mile nature trail. Wind through the gorgeous scenery and make a stop at our outdoor classroom, see beautiful limestone shelves, and enjoy the beauty of the Northern slopes of Thunder Mountain Park. There is no charge to hike the trail so you have no reason not to go!

Season Passes to Bridal Cave

Season passes to Bridal Cave are also a great gift that's full of a year's worth of family fun. For only an additional $5 on top of your one-time cave tour admission, you can upgrade to a pass that's good for one entire year from the date that it's purchased. Every time the weather isn't that enjoyable due to rain, snow, or uncomfortable temperatures, you can come and enjoy nature right here.

Our sluice is officially open and a fun activity for all ages. Explore Thunder Mountain Park

The most scenic cave tour in Missouri is surrounded by the natural beauty of Thunder Mountain Park .  This incredible Lake of the Ozarks attraction  covers hundreds of acres.  It spreads over more than a mile of Lake of the Ozraks shoreline, a mile of highway frontage along Old Missouri Route 5, and all the acreage in between.  That is a lot of nature to be explored! Establishing the park Thunder Mountain Park was established in 1950 in order to protect the caves within it.  The amazing colors and incredible onyx formations inside of Bridal Cave  are all formed by minerals from rain water that seeps into the ground. Spend Your Spring Break at the Lake of the Ozarks

It's time for Spring Break! You don't need to travel to some sandy beach to get away from everything. Our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction feels lucky to be located in the center of some of the most natural beauty in America. There's no need to travel any further than right here, the Midwest's Coast!  There are buds on the trees and the flowers are beginning to bloom, the fish are biting, and the lake is calling out to us all! Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are even extending our hours to kick off Spring Break, and we'll be open daily from 9:00 am - 5:00 pm beginning March 11, 2017 . Stalactites & Stalagmites - Which is Which?

Caves in Missouri , as well as around the world, are filled with stalactites and stalagmites.  Everyone has heard of these, but most people have trouble remembering which is which.  Today's Bridal Cave blog will hopefully help you to remember once and for all which one hangs from the ceiling and which one hangs from the floor.  We'll even teach you some interesting facts about how both are formed.   There are a couple of different ways that people use to help them keep these two types of formations straight.  Stalactites are fixed "tight" to the ceiling, and stalagmites "might" trip you when you walk.  Another trick is to use the spelling. StalaCtite has a "C" like the Ceiling from which it hangs, and stalaGmites have a "G" like the Ground they grow on.  You may think these ideas sound corny, but we bet at least one of them will stick with you and you will always remember!
