Recycle Your Christmas Trees at Bridal Cave

Bridal Cave & Thunder Mountain Park are performing a couple of good deeds with one simple action. Your favorite attraction at the Lake of the Ozarks will be taking your Christmas trees once you are done with them, helping you get rid of that large item after the holidays, and at the same time helping to improve fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks.

That glorious, festively decorated Christmas tree is the center of attention throughout your holiday season. Once you are done celebrating and the lights and decorations have been removed, you have the problem of figuring out what to do with the tree. Most Missouri landfills do not accept Christmas trees.

From Decoration To Habitat
We suggest giving it back to nature by recycling that used tree into a habitat for fish at the Lake of the Ozarks. This is not only a great way to make sure the tree doesn't go to waste, but it's also a wonderful lesson for children about recycling. Instead of simply becoming trash, this beauty of nature can instead be turned into a much need habitat for the many species of fish that live in the Lake of the Ozarks.

Greg Stoner, a Fisheries Management Biologist for the MO Department of Conservation, said, "This is a win-win situation. It will help keep discarded trees from along the lake's roadways and provide much needed cover for fish at the Lake."

Bring Us Your Trees!
We would like to assist you in recycling that Christmas tree. We'll be taking them and placing them in the Niangua Arm of the Lake of the Ozarks. Simply drop off your old tree with all of the decorations removed, and we'll take care of the rest. We will be closed on Christmas Day and New Year's Day, but other than that, bring them by.

Steve Thompson, General Manager of the park, stated, "It seemed like an ideal opportunity to help recycle the old Christmas trees as we have the room on our parking facility to collect the discarded trees, are located right on the lake, and have the shoreline to place the beds.

A Special Bonus For You
As an added incentive, our scenic Lake of the Ozarks attraction would like to give something back to you for giving back to nature. For every tree donated, you will receive a coupon good for 25% off admissions anytime during the 2017 season. (Can you believe that 2017 is only a little over a week away!?!)
